Never is only as long
As the next ruby rush of her moonblood
Cresting, unheeded, simple,
It beads down a thigh in the silver of star before dawn.

This never, this once before never betrays you
And slits her heart slowly and catches your breath as she 
Rises to stem the infertile (infernal)  red tide with a sigh.  

Her never, and your ever after, entangled and bruising
With planning and thinking you're choosing the time,
Molds to maybe, the whether to if and the never
That's only as long as her sudden, miraculous drought.
