Abundance as a lantern glows Abundance as a lantern glows, Atop a laneway post, And sputters when temerity grows, Within uncertain ghost. Compassion as a candle burns, In window lone and lost, And flares when recognition turns To melt the feast from frost. Happiness as hearthfire roars In sanctuary's cove As understanding from heart pours And forges a new love. The firelight, whate'er its form, Millennia of spirits warm.
